Absolutely correct about pre ACA. Women had to pay for birth control and routine female care but viagra was a deduction. Because women had babies, we had to pay more for insurance compared to men. Did I mention the viagra coverage?

Affordable care was the only care our family had for 5 years. My husband worked for small companies that didn’t pay for health care . Then I retired and our whole family had to go on affordable care here in California.

Getting rid of the ACA protections would keel a lot of people, for money.

Our private insurance company canceled us after I had an automobile accident with injuries requiring surgery. We were told that we answered two questions incorrectly. Still never understood the question nor how to answer it. Later, we learned that it was a practice to include intentionally convoluted questions that allowed companies to cancel you when they needed to. Ended up paying out of pocket for EVERYTHING. My husband was a private consultant and I was home with my young kids. I took a low paying job in my kid's school district, where I had more education and experience than the principals, but the medical insurance was group and fantastic. That's what it drove us to. ACA insurance would've been super costly for us, but it did change the rules. It is also a blessing for those with preconditions or those not eligible for medicaid.

It's good to hear that Obama care actually made some difference to average Americans. I guess that it's not perfect but over time, people will see the impact on families and friends, when this happens - the Republicans will never be able to gut the plan, because it would be political suicide.

If you wanna keep your ACA vote for Biden in November. Republicans WILL try again to get rid of ACA if they get the chance again.

Healthcare, from GP to the big Pharma-boys, should be nationalized.

ACA helps, a lot! I used it, when I left my job, and lost coverage thru my employer. During the President Obama administration, there were so many health insurance to choose from, and so affordable. When Trump took office, he stripped the ACA, so there were fewer plans left, the premiums were a little higher. But those were still so much better than COBRA or if you didn't have insurance at all. Bottom line ACA helps!!

THE law CHANGHED IN THE LATE 70`S TO EARLY 80`S not just 10 years ago = you have to be """ CORRECT HERE OR PEOPLE WILL USE IT AGAINST US ALL """ !!!

Back in the day, I was denied because I had a thyroid condition and needed daily medication. They said it was a pre-existing condition.

I remember pre-ACA trying to look for my own insurance coverage because I didn't qualify at the time for my own with my employer - $1000 per month premium with a $5000 copay as an otherwise healthy adult female with asthma. No cancer, I wasn't obese, no autoimmune diseases, no migraines, nothing like that.

$1000 a month just to breathe.

It really beggars belief that a nation such as the United States does not want affordable health care for all it's citizens, this is truly unbelievable to a person who has always lived in a country that has affordable healthcare. By the way I love in New Zealand, the best country in the world, I would just like to give my best wishes for your coming election. May the best woman WIN..❤❤

Left out the part you had to have it or go to jail and part where it cost three times as much. I lost mine because of obamacare. The whole system needs to be redone more like europe style.
