Measuring wind speed

In this video I talk a little bit about the relationship between airspeed and ground speed. In particular, I discuss a method for determining wind speed given measurements of an aircraft's ground speed during the ride to altitude.
The latest version of the FlySight Viewer includes a simplified "wind estimation" tool. The FlySight Viewer can be downloaded here:
An upcoming version of the FlySight Viewer will introduce tools to subtract wind speed from freefall measurements. The new tools will be based on the wind estimation tool, so I thought it would be a good idea to discuss the theory behind that tool first.
