Ok so should you visit Fremont Street and Downtown Las Vegas? If you got past the intro, the answer is…YES! Here are all the fun things to do on Fremont Street in Las Vegas - including shows, entertainment, attractions, foodie tours, the zipline, best restaurants and more. I also cover more areas downtown like the Fremont East neighborhood and more. I truly love the Fremont Street Experience (almost better than the Las Vegas Strip) - in this video I share why!

I've always been a fan of Fremont Street over the Strip. Glad you're back, Aly! I wonder if you've convinced Chris to do a Talls video with his voiceover. 😄

We go to Vegas 2 or 3 times a year and always stay at the PLAZA. I’m not a gambler but my husband loves to play craps, the table minimum is reasonable and their table staff are always friendly and upbeat. The pool is great and the proximity to Fremont Street is awesome! We always have at least one meal at Oscars(the best steak!) and Hash House a go go, YUM!!
Lastly, Vegas’ best sports book is right across the street at Circa with a huge screen showing every game imaginable!
I will say though, that you’re likely to encounter some homeless beggars and a contact high just walking around. So parents beware, it’s not a place for children.

Thank you so much!! I go to Vegas every 7 to 9 weeks. Truth be told, I never even think of doing downtown. Now, after seeing the 2 of you staying there. Says alot! So thank you!

I completely agree on ALL of your points Aly. Especially the Mike Hammer show at the 4 Queens - my friends and I saw his show this past May and it was easily one of the highlights of my trip. He is very skilled, incredibly funny and involves the audience in the act. I HIGHLY recommend seeing him. I will return for sure, probably not my upcoming trip in a few weeks - but definitely on another occasion.

Fremont St = too crowded, too loud, cheap made merch, too hot, all I seen were sad looking people, I don’t know what happened, it was so much better 10 years ago

I agree. Also, during F1 weekend on the strip the downtown area is offering a FREE huge neon music festival as a way to say FU to F1. So lets get the word out and hopefully everyone makes it out to support that great event!

Have always loved Fremont Street, been visiting Las Vegas over 30 years, but WOW! You've introduced me to at least 3 places I've got to visit now. Thanks for taking the time to find the hidden gems a lot of folks have missed, or not discovered yet!

Me and my wife went twice. When we went in 2022, we absolutely loved it. My wife even won 127 bucks on her 2nd spin at Golden Nugget! I got stuck on the zipline and I thought it was fun! lol

We went this year and I think the later it got, the less we enjoyed it (coupled with guards yelling at us not to go inside Golden Nugget, but we went in from the other side to use the restroom and then Lyft back to Mandalay Bay). It was a good time, but then again, it was day 6 of our Vegas trip lol I was getting burnt out.

Try Pizza Rock and Eureka! next time you're downtown! We love everything about Fremont; need to start building our comps down there!

First off, I agree that it is much better and more fun and less expensive to stay downtown. And second, your video makes me a little sad and longing for past days. My first trip to LV was in the late 70's. It was a 21st birthday present from my mother. She even paid for my best friend to travel with me. Our hotel was the Golden Nugget and we loved it. There was no Fremont Experience back then and we loved how you could even go diagonally at the walk lights. I know, small things, but being from a 200 person town, small things become bigger. And those neon signs you pointed out were on actual places back then. Glitter Gulch was an actual casino, not a strip club as it would become years later and then even a symbol of downtown. And Vegas Vic? I gambled many times in the Pioneer. And I still wake up sometimes with the jingle from Sassy Sally's in my head. It's Double double double double double double double double, double jackpot time! You could play 50 cent live blackjack at one of the casinos and $1 was everywhere. The Plaza was there, but called Union Plaza and it has not changed a lot over the years. My favorite memory of there was the .49 breakfast special (2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage, hash browns, 2 pieces of toast and coffee). I was a growing boy, so I ordered 2 most days lol. I even lived in East Las Vegas in the mid 80's. I remember driving downtown and parking outside the door at the news shop at the Horseshoe. Sportsbooks were mostly stand alone places back then. Anyone else remember a cigar smoke filled joint just across a side street from Golden Nugget called LeRoy's? My friend was nervous as hell there, but I loved it. Yes, I still love staying downtown every trip, but memories abound from The Mint to Golden Goose to Lady Luck to Sundance to Gold Spike to Orbit Inn to Las Vegas Club. Ok, time to walk down to El Cortez and get lost in memories. Nice video, 😎

The Golden Nugget is my go to. I agree with you that the best place and the vibe that used to be the strip is now downtown

I agree with you, we always stay downtown! Main St Station is our home away from home (we go to Vegas at least 3 or 4 times a year, sometimes more, for many years now). They refurbished their rooms recently, Triple 7 Brewery is great for beer & food, and the buffet is good too. Awesome friendly staff, many of whom have become our friends. Their casino is smaller, not as many machines, but way less crowded and smoky which we like. We like going to Circa to eat & play, Andiamo at The D is awesome, also like Triple George and Hugo’s Cellar. Fremont St can get a little nuts at times but is always interesting! Love that they have really cleaned up the area down near El Cortez and the Container Park and Main St and Stewart as well. There are not nearly as many homeless people as there used to be. So it feels much safer to me. Of course you always have to be smart and aware of your surroundings no matter what. And it is definitely less expensive downtown than on the strip! You will never catch us on the strip unless we are going to a show or concert there, which we tend to avoid.

weve been down there but actually hate it. the surrounding area is a slum, and there is constantly riff raff with homeless people. always getting harassed, day & night. does not feel safe and we wont go back.

Fremont is one of those places where you either love it or hate it.

Great video Aly love staying on Fremont or just off of it. So much information, thank you!

Downtown is fun. I think what a lot of folks don’t realize is that despite how it appears on the map, the strip takes a LOT of walking which is killer in the summer. I’ve been to Vegas dozens of times and can attest that the machines downtown pay more often than on the strip so you can last a little longer haha!
