At 8:07... Wouldn’t you have to close down the aperture of the 35mm on FF to match the DOF of the 24mm on S35?

Really good video. Thanks for taking the time to put it up for me and everyone else. It's always nice to find videos and information that help us solve problems.

This is harder for me to follow without diagrams, but the example helped a bit.

Thanks for the video!
One question though - Doesn't a f/2.8 give you a more shallow DoF than a f/4?
I thought to get the same DoF on a 35mm than that of a 24mm you would have to have it on something like a f/5.6... I'm confused.

Glad to hear this all covered comprehensively - there's a lot of misinformation on this topic out there and this video cuts through a lot of that

I have a doubt. Birdman, For example was shot with a 18mm lens(zeiss master prime), but the camera was a Alexa M who has a super 35 sensor, so with the crop factor(1.5) it was shoting in 27mm?

Just learned about this topic over the past few days. I'm surprised to find that (from what I can tell) Nikon and even Canon don't make many if any Super 35mm (which is cropped compared with full frame for anyone learning) consumer grade cameras for cinematic use. So I've got to look more into Sony-type crop sensor cameras since they're cheaper for the ssme purpose.

Depth of Field distance across these formats and their differences would have been helpful too, or maybe another video?!
