Where I live, rent is $3000.00 a month for a small apartment! I am so glad I listened to my Dad with finances, I retired young and own my homes outright with no debts of any kind. I am paying double the amount for groceries from what I paid one year ago. Rent is absolutely insane! Price of homes is more than insane! Inflation baloney, a terrible depression is what it is.

I'm in construction and work is drying up. Not just because of the holidays but mostly due to inflation. Even General contractors are complaining that the material cost of building a house is nuts. Many just lost tens of thousands of dollars due to bids on their previous jobs being blown out by the recent sever inflation. So now they are doing bids that reflect current prices and customers are saying, "Nope, we'll wait." (Not just because the bid price but also higher interest rates.) People are putting remodel projects on hold too (my main source of income).
I have yet to encounter a Democrat that cares about this. At best the response is "Yeah, bummer, but that's a distraction from our real problems."
