About:
Based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the show is set amongst a larger- than-life junkyard playground and is alive with our favourite feline characters including Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Grizabella and Skimbleshanks.

The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year – the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life.

People don't fully grasp how hard this musical is to pull off. Every performer has to be experts in ballet, modern, and jazz dancing... they have to be phenomenal actors to bring their cat's story to life... and they have to sing some of the hardest rhythmic music in broadway.

Anyone else note Tugger dancing right along with them in frigging skate shoes? Like, I know they're altered so he can to the stuff he needs to, but those things still have to be a bit clunky and heavy, and he's just like "no worries bro" and freaking KILLS it!

the whole number is genius but 2:11 is my FAVORITE part just look at Tugger’s face when he dances! it’s so passionate and strong

all of them are above anything I’ve ever seen, they are all out of this world, but the passion and energy from Mr. Mistoffelees, Rum Tum Tugger, Rumpleteazer and Cassandra are out of this universe, they make me cry everytime I inhale and forget to breathe

Regardless of whether you think Cats is weird or whatever, this dance segment is one of the reasons why this Musical is so great. You've got to appreciate the artwork 💙

Something I just noticed: At the beginning, when Alonzo goes to scare away Grizzabella, you can see Old Deuteronomy in the background reaching out to try and stop him. After that, his focus is on her until :53 when she leaves and he holds out his hands to her before slowly sitting down once she's gone.

This was the most amazing part when I saw it on Broadway. I cried. The music just flooded the room and the choreo was SO impressive. I really knew right then that I wanted to perform forever.

Omg, I remember watching this as a kid over and over because I was just mesmerized by the way the moved. Just look at Tugger, look at all of them. It's like rushing water, the amount of strength put into every step. It's gorgeous.
