One of the best ways to get a feel for just how extraordinary Warren Buffett's investment results have been over the years is to look at how much money you could have made if you had invested in Buffett's holding company, Berkshire Hathaway. I do that in this video.

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $89k now to put in the market.

Intelligent Investors Checklist:

1) Invest in companies with strong fundamentals.
2) Make sure you know the business and are not simply gambling.
3) Look for Wide Economic Moat (competitive advantage)
4) Buy it when it goes below its intrinsic value (i.e when it's undervalued)
5) Keep Margin of Safety
6) Buy and hold for 10 - 15 years time horizon.

"Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing" - Warren Buffet

Most important: NEVER sell due to temporary market fluctuations (bear market) or correction. Believe in the fundamentals. It will almost always reward you.

Investing doesn't have to be complicated. Warren Buffett is a living example of that.

Buffet: "you only have one body and one life and it has to last you a lifetime, so take care of it". Love this quote by Buffett motivate me to read and exercise daily👊.

Those numbers are truly inspiring.

That’s why I love value investing and teaching people to minimize downside when investing.

Jesus. If you think stock prices are expensive today, imagine 20 years from now.

But that is a bit misleading. I mean $1, 000 was worth a lot more before than now, so even though the amount increases a lot, the actual value of the money increase is not as dramatic as the numbers make it look. You should point that out.

4:48 6:14 buying on sale is something I learned from my Jewish boss. I know what I want, I keep my eyes on it until the price reduces by 50% or more, then I purchase it.

$1000 in 1964 was a shit ton of money. In California the minimum wage was $1.25/hour back then.

The question isn't what would your 1000 look like since 1964, but what would we look like since January 2018. Or two years ago. I could in hindsight go look at Bitcoin in 2007 and show you a much better return. Or even just look at what Amazon has done over the past decade. The irony of course is that in every example of a stock like Amazon producing amazing results, there were and always are scores of "experts" saying not to buy it when the stock price was low. I remember Jim Cramer and his cnbc experts saying back in January 2009 that the days of buying and holding we're over forever. Had you ignored their advise, you would have made a killing. The key to investing is to ignore most of the experts and do your own research

How to assess if you are following the rules? 1)how to know if the company is protected from competition (Ex. Tesla may not have much competition now but can as the EV market accelerates), 2) how to know if you are buying at sale? (How to know if value will increase much or not?)

Investment results even for an S&P 500 index fund are still very good if you looked back 20 or 30 years. Most just don't understand that the buy and hold approach works so well. They only look at the index price but never factor in reinvested dividends. You really don't need bonds, rebalancing or anything. Just a 100% stock portfolio and you will do great.

I’m glad you added that part at the end. People sometime don’t understand that Warren can’t optimally invest in companies because of his volume of capital. BH has to invest like a huge company not like a small investor.... people should copy his strategies not his portfolio.
