Thats definitely in nice shape for a '66 bug. Yeah i hear you the more you start to clean and look around well maybe i better clean a bit more in the guest room. That bugs definitely a sleeper when someone in another bug tried to race you lol
Well when you get a chance you can check out a couple videos i did today on my channel. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for the advice EZ, I have electronic module and the carbs do not have choke, timing at 28 degrees at 3000 rpm. I have not set the static timing, don't know if this could make the difference. EMPI dual HPMX 40's

I'm working on my 1776 with 110 cam and webber 40s for 54 oval. the 1600 dp does great but just not enough jam on the highways and Hills ✌

I am having the same problem with my 1776. It starts fine cold but once it warms up and I turn it off and give it about 15 minutes it cranks slower and give me a bit of trouble to start.
It has dual 40"s hpmx and electric fuel pump (3 psi), timing set set at 28 degrees. 125 mains, 52 idles, 28 vents. German 009 distributor, brand new Bosch blue coil.
What can be causing this problem? Thank you

About how much hp does that mild 1776 make? I thinking of going for the same setup.
