She say she don’t like boring cases and then when someone come in with a complicated case, she dismisses it. Says she don’t have time for it 😂

That's actually how I got my previous car: the transmission went out, the owner didn't want to pay 3000 bucks to get it fixed so he sold it to the mechanic's shop who fixed it up and resold it to me. Except they weren't scam artists and I got a really good car out of the deal. It only died last year when I got hit from behind and the car was damaged beyond repair. The previous owner even kept it in really good shape!!!

Oh a dishonest mechanic? No way…This can’t be true LOL 😝 However, the plaintiff bought a used car. It’s his responsibility to make sure it’s in running order…

Been a mechanic my whole adult life. I'm a fleet mechanic now, but did work for various local shops. If you bring your car in for problem X, Im looking at problem X and whatever else is on the work order (could possible have a free courtesy check, fluids etc.) Mechanics at your local shops don't make shit for money yet probably fork out more than you think for the tools to repair your shit. Most are also flat rate on how they get paid. Its a dying trade, at least on the automotive side.

She just described a typical Dutch doctor. Because that's exactly how they function.

"It was running but the transmission was out." LOL

She's totally wrong here.
If you go to a mechabic and tell them a general issue, they aren't going to check over each of the systems of the car, they are going to look for the issue.
Unless you go in and ask and pay for a complete inspection of the engine, fuel system, etc they don't need to. The human body analogy just isn't the same

If I ever want emotional distress I’d never come on judge Judy. She never gives it.

Not even close to a comparison … an immobile car having a bad transmission can have a multitude of other issues not visable… if you went into a doc office for a cold and were internally bleeding should the doctor know ? Come on JJ

The medical analogy is foolish. If a patient comes in with a problem, has no other symptoms & is not due for a comprehensive evaluation, we would not find carotid stenosis or an aortic aneurysm.

well, actually, in Canada, in some places you are only allowed to have one ailment per Dr's visit. They want to limit their time as much as possible. The Dr would probably deal with the arm though, if it was visible, and not the cold. cheers!

Actually, there is a slight difference here. You can only properly diagnose a car when it's running. So, anything they find while the transmission is not operational will be minimal and only what they can see physically (rusted, broken, worn down). Once that is running, they may find other issues.

Only take away from this Part 1 is the Plaintiff getting pissed at her husband for being a gentleman and opening the gate for

I have to disagree here with the analogy the judge used. When someone brings in a vehicle and ask a mechanic to look at something they are not going to go out of their way to look at something extra unless the customer asked to do a complete check up on the car as that makes them liable if anything goes wrong while touching something they weren't asked to touch. Some customers have the mindset of "if you touch it then you own it" or in other words "it was working perfectly fine before you touched it and not it doesnt work so that means you broke it". A doctor on the other hand will see something and may check it out if its obvious like a bleeding arm.
