sadly, people in comments are stupid. the movie was not about a woman with baby's brain, it was about a woman discovering the world through the childlike (literally) wonder
yorgos focused more on bella's personality than on the story (while it of course greatly influence one another), it's about growth and exploration of every aspect of life.
"i am finding being alive fascinating" is the line that can describe it better than anything else.
and no, t's not about paedophilia becaue 1)philosophically, sex and masturbation are the very normal things for human species, it's a major part of our psychological system and it is important in child's development (which is a way of movie's storytelling)
2)legally, first time bella has sexual act, her brain is developed to the 19 years of age
anyway emily stone got that oscar 110% deserved as she not only portrayed bella, but actually helped to create her as she worked closely with the director

This movie is disgusting and vile.
They used the story of Frankenstein as loophole for child porn and in addition they used story for the movie as male fantasy of ideal woman. I'm so mad right now because I love classical monsters from their books like Frankenstein.
