I built a 12v setup in a milkcrate that powers two sheds (light, outlets, and 4 trickle chargers)currently using agm batt.upgrading to lithium soon.

Nice setup, only criticism is tiny panel and cheap charge controller. I suppose it does what you need but a mppt charger and a bigger panel would be the next step. Great stuff! ❤️😎👍

Thanks, though 12V Lighting is sold out. Found rechargeable one just for now.

I’m just attempting something like this but with zero previous knowledge. I’ve bought 100w solar panel and 12v 100amh battery and mppt controller.
I want to run 10-12 3w led spotlights on a light sensing timer so they come on at sunset and run for 2-5 hours depending on time of year. Also want a couple of PIR floodlights probably the same as you 10w and 50w.
Questions:
How long can the cable to the controller be. Would about 30m be ok? Placing the panel on the shed roof not ideal in terms of position for sunlight.

The other thing I’m really struggling with understanding is cable size and amp value of the circuit breakers. I’ve been mostly using Greg Virgoe’s camper van videos and while he explains it well I’m still struggling.

Could this power a garden office? One light, two monitors a laptop?

Can it take a small electric heater for winter?

Hi Chris, I have just come across you interesting videos on off grid solar systems. I am new to solar and I’m looking at installing my own system to my summerhouse. Can you point me in the right direction to where you have purchased your systems and what type of system I would need to power simple lighting & sockets etc. Many thanks . Andy

Hi Chris, is there any way I can contact you directly to discuss a project I'm working on in my shed at the allotment. Thanks

I would like to build something similar but ongrid, meaning that if the solar isn't enough it automatically switch to the grid, is that possible?

G'Day,
Great starter system & well done, but 1 important question are you running a DC fuse, as you should be running a fuse per system line at least, mostly to avoid any electrical damage or fires - food for thought - otherwise a great system
Warm Regards,
Chris

Might try this for my railway shed, have you done an installation vid on this . Also could this run some form of heating? Regards Fred

Why such a huge battery for just a few 12v lamps?

I'm a prepper so I'm building a steel reinforced block and concrete shed, that will be completely solar using AC and DC that will be running a 12v water pump to irrigate plants with rain water from the rain harvesting system the shed will also have, the set up will be 12v with a lot of interesting twist lol

I'm looking to wire my shed/mini workshop up with solar. I would like to charge drills, use a little bench grinder and maybe push to a heater. Is that possible with this kind of set up? Thanks.

Hello mate, this set up looks perfect for my garden room!! I need a couple of spot lights in the soffit, a few more inside and hoping to have 2x240v sockets inside. Would this be possible using this solar panel? Cheers!
