After being cooped up at FareDrop HQ for far too long, we were ready for a big day out in Hồ Chí Minh City (or Saigon), Vietnam! Highlights include: Vietnamese coconut coffee (an old fav), the Ben Thanh Market, noods, and most of all, “Dining in the Dark” for dinner. Have you heard of it? It was the most INCREDIBLE experience. Hope you enjoy :)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

“My soup tastes brown.” Is probably the best thing Kara said!

I love how sweet Nate is to Kara... bringing her coffee every morning! Adorable! 💕 Reminds me to make sure and do kind things for my hubby daily. ☺️ The little things matter.

Vietnam is such an interesting place. The people are incredibly friendly in a way that is also a bit sad, as it’s very easy to see these are people who have been surpressed for so many decades.

My oldest son has been all over the world. He has not been to as many countries as you guys but he is well traveled. Vietnam is one of his favorite places. "Follow a local across the street" was exactly the advice he got when he was there. He has great stories about Vietnam and India.

Awesome video guys! Vietnam 🇻🇳 has been mentioned to me by so many people so I think it’s finally time I take the plunge! Going to put this one in the books 📚👍

Ahh good video. I'm 33 years old. Growing up in USA, I felt extremely removed from what war really is and learning about different wars has been really transformative for how I relate to myself and others.

Some trivia about the war: my Dad served twice over there and was treated alwful when he came back. My Dad loved the children there and we sent candy etc. For the kids. He fought for the Vietnamese who needed freedom. I have pics of the country and people there etc., very special. He said it was a beautiful country, glad ya'll enjoyed it there and the fact it's a free country. Blah blah blah, I'll stop now. Lol. Love to both of you!

So interesting to see war history from a different perspective right? My Vietnamese friends gave me an insight based on their perspective and honestly, this was the same way with the Filipino-American War because I learned Philippine history in the Philippines then moved to the U.S. at 12 years old and things were completely different when I learned it again. I'm glad you guys are open minded!

I went to an event this year for prevention for blindness earlier this year. We ate dinner blindfolded and it was a pretty cool to have that experience. It made me have so much appreciation for the people that aren't able to remove the blindfold and be able to see what we see everyday.

OMG Nate, that market owner at 4:38 was like " NO CAMERA" - Guess he didn't want his knock off sunglasses and bags filmed. LOL. By the way, would you watch our latest video as we'd love to hear your thoughts as well.

I also went to the War Remnants Museum, and while silently crying on my own, I watched the Americans on the same room with me, seeing the photos and reading those photos. I was curious what they were thinking. I guess you answered it. Thank you for your content.
Love from the Philippines

Stayed in to chi Minh city for a week and went to the war museum and OMG I know how you feel!! I had the same feeling it was such an interesting experience. It broke my heart to see all the photos.

As a blind person I think it’s so cool that you had that experience of dining with no vision. Glad you enjoyed a little taste of my blind world! I’ve been watching your videos for 2 years and adore everyone! Thanks guys, sending love x
