INGREDIENTS & PRODUCTS USED + MENTIONED:

HOMEMADE BANANA ICE CREAM RECIPE:
2 frozen bananas, cut into thirds
1-2 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk (or any milk you prefer)
1-2 teaspoons maple syrup, honey, or monk fruit

Pop bananas into a blender or food processor and blend until the bananas have a smooth and creamy consistency (just like ice cream). Depending on how powerful your blender or processor is, your bananas may clunk around a bit at the beginning BUT just give them a minute. Once they start to break down, they turn into this lovely, creamy treat.

If you want, you can skip the milk addition altogether, but I like to add a little in. I usually use just a tablespoon or two along with the maple syrup. Blend until thick and creamy. Enjoy!

NOTES
Storage recommendation: If you happen to have any banana ice cream left over, simply store it in an airtight container in the freezer. It will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Before enjoying, thaw at room temperature until slightly softened.

you should cut your banana into small slices and freeze them that way. they will freeze quicker and will be much easier to blend.

I’ve done this and I still trip out how I put only a frozen banana in my blender and literally get ice cream. It’s the best invention ever.

I remember when you first posted this and have made so many different varieties since. I am glad you came out with another video for the people who have maybe not tried it. So delicious and something you can feel good about. Thanks for all you do.

This is my go to when craving a sweet treat in the summer! I like to add unsweetened flaked coconut and walnuts to mine…sometimes peanut butter…other times I’ll add cacao powder to make it less “banana tasting”. I’ve also found coconut milk full fat (just a little) makes it really creamy.

I also love your breakfast cookies!

Just made this! My entire family loved it! My 1 year old acted like it was the best thing he ate! What I like about this recipe is it is very versatile. You can add chocolate or other add one to make it unique. For those of you worried about it being like a blended banana smoothie….it’s not at all!! It’s remarkably smooth like soft serve and the banana flavor kind of disappears a bit. It’s healthy too. We actually feed our son a bunch of your recipes and he loves them all…so do we!

That looks great. I always buy bananas, peal them, and then freeze them. If I ever need something sweet, I just eat a frozen banana

I love adding vanilla, almond, and butter extract along with the maple syrup. It tastes like cake batter!

I've been making this for years. It's so good. I add cacao to mine and cacao nibs. Nutella and chocolate chips are so good for a less healthier version.
