Trump's pick for Defense Secretary has been accused of sexual assault. This was an incredibly predictable development. And the claim, in my opinion, is not remotely credible—which is also predictable.

Megyn Kelly reports there were two people in the bar before Pete and Jane Doe left who claimed Doe was not under the influence. She was observed touching Pete fondly in the bar. On the way to Pete's room between 1 AM and 2 AM, a member of the hotel staff observed the couple and noted Jane Doe was not under the influence. They got to the room. Consensual sex happened. Afterward, Doe (in an Oh, shiite moment) told Pete she would tell her her husband she fell asleep in a friend's room. Doe finally returned to her room (also occupied by her husband and children) at 4 AM. Husband said she didn't appear to be under the influence. It is obvious she lied about the sexual assault because she didn't want to admit cheating.

It absolutely sickens me that women face zero repercussions for false accusations. A man’s life is beyond ruined, not just jail time but the registery ruins your life in so many ways, you can lose a lot of friends and even family members, you can never be around kids even your own depending on your state. If a woman makes a false accusation, she should be forced to serve the same sentence the innocent man would’ve received had he been found guilty. It’s the only way this injustice ends

35 years ago my ex accused me of molesting our daughter because I wouldn't sign over my rights to her new husband.
I went through a horrible trial and was acquitted. The only thing that saved me was that I literally was never alone with her during the day of our visit. My ex didn't count on that.
I've never fully recovered from the shame of the ordeal.
