I love old buildings. I use to fix up some, trying to make them as original as possible. Last one was a house built in the early 1920s. Had the cast iron tub and an old roller piano. Also servants access and the foundation was made of rocks. Nothing scary, it was like going back in history though.

I've talked to professional Urbex guys about their creepiest moment. It was stumbling across the preparation for an underground rave.

What I get from Urbex is that they get a strange sense of calm from seeing decaying buildings. Especially seeing nature retake it has something comforting. Despite all the damage we did to nature, she recovers quickly.
