I am praying the project in France and the Skunkworks project BOTH succeed!! Skunkworks is claiming A fusion engine the size of a Large Jet engine and be able to power an average city. And clean water waste. Thank you so much for this video!!!!

Good presentation, because it's consistently directed toward about the same level. Such a thing could be above most people's head, or could be so dumbed down as to be useless. Here, we are mostly near a happy medium. I learned stuff.

Thats was great! Thanks, very introductory, but outstanding. Green eggs and Ham!

A-neutronic fusion is the only way to go, unlike fission reactors there is no moderator limiting the damage to the walls due to neutric radiation.

This video is indeed very informative.  However I can't help but feel that the energy output problem might be because you are using a steam generator to harness what is potentially limitless energy.  I've read of a patent for a fusion generator that uses a steam generator as well as a thermoionic power converter (in order to harness the massive heat from the plasma ).  Can you tell me why having those two generators instead of just one wouldn't work?  (It might be obvious to you but not to me)

It was said by experts in plasma fusion that all the fusion spectrum energy released by fusion is not used to produce the heat for making electricity like fission power plant: So this Q factor is a measure for a lab approach of for the Power plant producer? It's important for the one who dream about fusion, the scientific publication are not explaining what energy is about. The rest of the video is good to watch: It remeber when I was working at Tore Supra CEA Euratom project and at the JET Euratom project

This video was so informative, and easy for the layman to grasp our current progress w this tech. Thanks!! I for one am looking forward to seeing how fission will be placed in the timeline leading towards, or perhaps more likely, following peak oil. Seems to me the energy cornucopians are relying on fission to bridge the transition. Exciting times.

Thanks for the vid, very informative indeed. It's a shame there are so many voices who want to shut down the investment in fusion development because 'it isn't profitable now, so we can make better use of the money in other domains'... So short-sighted.

At PPPL there was this assumption that if you could create fusion, you
would get all this energy out. But I sometimes wonder; what if the
energy and the fusion of Hydrogen into Helium weren't BOTH results of
another force? In the Sun, it works. In the lab it doesn't. What's the
difference? In the sun you have all that mass causing all that gravity
bending and stretching space-time. So again I ask, is it possible that
gravity is causing BOTH the fusion and the energy?

What about the Dense plasma focus technologies?  How well do they stackup against the tokomak fusions?  It sounds pretty promising.

We're still waiting for some serious results and success... waiting....

I personally think that aneutronic fusion is the best and viable option in a aneutronic reactor there is no neutrons hence the name and we fuse fuels like hydrogen and boron which will give you 3 helium ions and immense energy

So does the plasma move around within the toroid or outside?
