How to Pre Cut Applique Fabric Using an SVG with Silhouette Cameo | Machine Embroidery Applique

In today's tutorial, I will go over step-by-step how to create, setup, cut, and use an electronic cutting machine like a Silhouette Cameo or Cricut to precut applique fabric for machine embroidery and applique. I specifically use Sew What Pro Embroidery Software and Silhouette Studio Designer Edition to create the SVG file from a machine embroidery file. I use my Silhouette Cameo 4 to cut the fabric for the applique.

If you are new here, I am Ashley and I operate TWO Etsy embroidery shops full time from my home studio. Over 3 years ago, I traded in my RN job and stethoscope to stay home and operate my businesses full time when I could no longer keep up with both! Now I have a beautiful little girl at home with me that keeps me busy alongside my shops.

Your video just saved me $$ from "wanting" to buy a Scan n Cut!! I have Sew What Pro, a Silhouette and a Brother embroidery machine. Wanting to cut occasional fabric for applique, templates, etc. This is great. Thank you.

thank you so much.. I have embroidered for decades but this will make doing applique lettering so much easier. I spent way to much time hand cutting today. Love my embroidery machines and my Silhouette!

This is the best video I've seen for this. All others just show how to create the svg. You've shown the full process so it's really clear what to do. Many Thanks 😊

Thank you for the tutorial!! I couldn’t fathom spending $59 on a circuit mini so I went with the mini iron from Walmart. Does the same thing for $12.

This is exactly what I’ve been dying to see! Thank you so much! I’m not as afraid to try cutting appliqué fabric on my Cricut lol

Great tutorial and very clear on all the steps. Based on your business experience with the Silhouette Cameo 4 so far, would you recommend it for a business investment? I keep deciding to get one, then talking myself out of it! LOL!

Thank you so much for this video. I have SWP and Silhouette Business Edition so your steps will definitely work for me. I prefer my applique designs done with tack downs and stitches for embroidery designs and save my heat and bond ultra hold for my no sew applique designs. I guess I would've to cut the offsets for my designs to be able to tack it down.

Hello,
Thank you for a very useful video. May i ask about the no show polymesh please? i can only find the Brothread polymesh in the UK at the most on amazon, and do you think that this is ok to use? i am worried about it shrinking after washing.
Any advice would be great.
Thank you
Regards,
Ann.
