Economy cars have become mid level cars, mid level cars have become luxury cars and luxury cars have become space ships.

Paid off my brand new truck 8 years ago. It’s 13 years old and going strong. This is why you take care of your stuff.

So a dealership will take a loss on a vehicle rather than sell it to a consumer for the same price?
Ok. Got it.

It’s no longer a status symbol to come home with a new vehicle. Your neighbors look at you like you’re stupid. And, you are.

I just paid off my Truck this past weekend. That’s it for me, I’ll keep this for a long time maybe flying cars will be out next time I’m in the market. 😂

In July 1992 my wife wanted a new car to replace her barely running Chevette. I had done my best to keep it going, but just the parts to keep it on the road were going to be several times the value of the car.

The local family owned Ford dealer, who probably bought their cars for cash, had a two year old red Probe stick shift in medium trim sitting in their back lot. It was filthy and they had obviously given up trying to sell a non-sports car stick shift in an “automatic transmission town”. It looked like they had given up trying to sell it and it had been seemingly forgotten until we found it while wandering the back lot. I never did understand why they had not sent it to auction.

The new 1993’s were going to arrive soon, but my wife thought it was perfect for a commute car and didn’t care what model year it was.

Since we had lots of leverage, I did some hard bargaining (got up to leave twice) and the sales manager finally got to our target price by giving us probably three times as much as her Chevette was worth as a trade-in. We got the Probe at less than half the sticker price and it came with a full tank of gas. The gas alone was worth more than her Chevette!

She was happy with the car. I was happy with the price and I’m sure the dealer was happy to get it off his inventory.

That’s the way every deal should be.

Dealerships suck ass. I wish the consumer can just buy the car from the manufacturer instead.

I sold cars and trucks for 24 yrs. My dealer had a saying:"There's an ass for every seat" and I have come to believe that!

I would not want a car or truck that has been cooking in the sun for two years. Car batteries today last 2-3 years if your lucky, tires degrade in UV sunlight, the interior is burning away. So even though the odometer hasn't moved, that vehicle is aging just sitting there.

Historically they go to big parking lots in the most hail prone areas of the country where they eventually get hailed on and then the manufacturers collect insurance that we all pay for thru increased premiums and then they sell them at reduced rates, usually in Latin America because they cannot afford to have their new stock compete with the old stock for buyers. And our representatives do nothing to stop this. If anything, they encourage it.

A 2022 new car sold and driven off a lot is instantly a 2 year old used car. Drop of 30% or more in value.

I drive past major dealer lots each day including Tesla. Vehicles parked so tight everywhere. Couldn’t happen to nicer people.

As a consumer I'd like to thank you for these otherwise top secret, secrets! I love America but the greed we allow here is nothing short of criminal.

Dude, I watched three of your other videos. The amount of value that you pack of information and straight shooting… It’s off the chain. Got my sub. Imma look for you next time I need a car.

Very smart business model, Brandon! There is a 2012 Toyota Tundra at a nearby used car dealer that I looked at about a year ago. I passed it up because there is an INCREDIBLE amount of rust on the undercarriage. Literally flaking off onto the pavement on its own as it sits on the lot. That Tundra still sits there to this day for the outrageous price of over $22, 000! The thought process of that dealer boggles the mind. You'd think they would want or need the cash out of it at this point, even at a loss!
