Obviously you wouldn’t want to wear it everywhere at all times but I feel as it would be good for specific situations such as dealing with a horde or clearing out a location of zombies, I think it’s pretty clear you wouldn’t wanna be scavenging for resources or be in any kind of situation involving human v human

“No you can’t wear full plate armor and go rushing into zombie hordes gutting them up like Doom Eternal” literally 1984

So the only demerits is being uncomfortable & having to clean it regularly.

I'm fine with that.

Simple chainmail can stop zombie bites... hell even a thick jacket would protect from the undead

I wear it I don’t die, I am a man, full armour for me and my family= no death, zombie tries to bite they break their teeth.

Blud is working for the zombies he doesn’t want us to use it because it’s too powerful

If I’m in a museum when there’s an outbreak, that will be the first thing I’m gunning for

Not doubting your opinion but I’d certainly say otherwise.
Maintenance heavy? Can’t argue that.
Overkill? I mean, yeah? If there’s anything I’d want to be in a zombie apocalypse, it would be overkill.
Obviously you can’t wear it ALL THE TIME but I’d definitely be wearing it when I knew I would have to.

The biggest down side I see to it would be saying good bye to any chances of being quiet but honestly, they’re never biting through me 🤷‍♂️

Edit: then again, you’d probably get the same desired affects with chainmail but less of the repercussions.

Gambeson with chainmail on the most vulnerable areas would be best. Neck, arms, legs must be protected.

Maybe not a great idea at first but once survivor colonies start popping up, you could probably manage logistical hurdles and supply a small armed force of knights for zombies and modern armaments for human threats

Well, I think everyone agrees the most appropriate choice is riot gear.
We just want to wear plate armour for the style points

As someone who owns a full suite of armor it is not half as mainesce heavy just because you don't oil it for a day dose not mean it will rot away if it's well made, and it's very easy to clean and if you paint it makes it even easier to take care of I would honestly only wear it if I need it in a zombie apocalypse though because an Gaboson will practically make you invariable to being bitten

Gambeson would be pretty good, kevlar ideally, would reduce piercing through teeth

edit:
found some mentions of thin plates being sewn into arming hose and thin gambeson, a light brigandine of sorts

If I were forced into a protracted battle or siege, I'd prefer plate. For everyday wear when traveling or scavenging, leather or padded cloth under chain would be more than enough to stop a bite without weighing you down and making too much noise.

i do agree that it is a bit heavy but u can be very mobile in it and it offers very good protection especially against the thing u would be dealing with

I don’t think someone would wear it constantly. It can take half an hour to put on so it will probably be used knowing you’re going to battle. Also I pretty sure people in the apocalypse will be able to maintain the armour.

By that logic, the armor isn't ideal in any situation whatsoever.

Yeah, but you could be called something rad, like The Last Knight.

So it is worth it.

A gambeson armor would be a better choice.
