Retro Renew: How to Backlight a Gameboy Color using the McWill v1.0 kit and a factory shell, a quick to follow Step By Step Guide!
Welcome to Part 4 of this 5 Part series where we check out McWill’s solution to backlighting the Gameboy Color! McWill is no stranger to backlighting retro consoles. His previous work includes improved LCDs for both the Sega Game Gear and the Atari Lynx. Now, he brings his skills to backlighting the Game Boy Color! Below is the Series Guide for your reference:

It is my goal to release each part of the series one week apart (still working at becoming more efficient with creating these videos). I will try my best to follow this schedule!
In Part 4 of this series, let’s take a closer look at McWill’s solution to backlighting the Gameboy Color! His unique approach has some awesome features that make this install quite easy! In this video I will be looking at his rev 1.0 version of the kit. McWill has also released a rev 1.1 kit which has some additional improvements to the design which I’ll go over in this video as well. I will be installing this kit into a standard OEM shell. I am excited to show you this really amazing and easy solution to backlighting the Game Boy Color!!!
