Fun fact: exception errors like this one are pretty common with custom firmware. It's nothing to be worries about, the system just needs to restart.

For Info, this just means the app crashed. This can occur due to an illegal memory access (dereferencing a null pointer), out of memory, page access violation (trying to execute from read/write only memory; may also occur when someone forgot to flush cpu cache after chaning page premission to be able to execute a memory Page) and probably others.

A true app of death would crash the 3DS and then also brick it, showing nothing but the blue bootrom error screen on startup

Huh, I currently have an app of death, which is actually supposed to be YouTube. Except an exception doesn't occur, just the pop-up error that appears when you try to launch it because it was discontinued on the 3DS.
