Great video, I appreciate your step by step method to save photos.
I do have a couple of questions:
- Do the files stay in the same format (HEIF, HEVC/HEIF) when moved to the computer?
- Can the files be returned to the cloud the same way that they were transferred, using the same steps?

Excuse me, and thank you for the helpful video! How do I choose a different download path from icloud, it defaults to my mac, but I would like to change to external drive. Not enough a room on mac. Thanks very much!!!

Great for a LIMITED amount of pictures, but if you have many tens of thousands of photos then this method doesn't work at all unless you want to do this manually in many many operations as your new career. Using the "select all" feature greets you with a "too many photos" message or something like that.

Isn't there an automated way to do it with 3rd party software?

Great video Daniel without all the mumbo jumbo. Very precise and to the point. One question I have is when my photos were put in the Icloud folder, the photos are not showing, just descriptions like "img_223." How do I change that so I can see the actual photo without guessing what I am clicking on? Thanks again!!

I am following your instructions but its not downloading the photos in order. Is there a way to download the images in the order they are displayed in icloud (Or in the order of when they were added to icloud? When I unzip the downloaded file it just renames all the individual photos with random file names which is pointless and annoying.

Everything is ok but I have a question...
The actual creation dates of the downloaded photos or videos are deleted and it is as if they were created on the downloaded date.
Do you have a suggestion for this?
Photos are memories and documents, but their original dates are deleted when you do it this way :(

I have 40, 000 photos the method you used only applies to less than 1000 photos, how do you download all photos if more than 1k photos?

What if you have 73, 000 photos? We uploaded to external hard drive but now they won't loan on my Mac.It only shows 57, 000 now. My son transferred them and he isn't for sure what happened with the rest unless it duplicates.
