Really good video and good points about Microsoft's relationship with Databricks. I agree the relationship may suffer, but I struggle to see why Azure sellers would position Synapse over Databricks while they're still getting comped for selling Databricks as a first-party service. Any enterprise that's used Synapse on TBs or PBs of data knows Synapse won't be around much longer. OneLake is also based on Delta Lake, the direction of which is almost entirely controlled by Databricks, whereas other true open source projects like Hudi and Iceberg have a diversity of large companies (Apple, Adobe, Netflix, Tencent, etc) that contribute to the project development.
