Urban Eats | Circular food systems for more resilient cities

Globally, 150 million urban residents are food insecure, yet, cities generate 2.8 billion tons of organic waste each year. More people could be pushed into food insecurity as global food prices are on track to rise 23% this year, according to the World Bank.

Urban Eats will activate 20 cities over the next three years to commit to changes in the way they manage food waste, thereby creating circular and resilient food systems. It also aims to launch and sustain an impact food circularity program through the mobilization of the philanthropic sector and industry corporate social responsibility leaders to support cities.
