I agreed with most of these, but my adhd self has to have backups of non perishable foods and toiletries because I usually forget to pick them up when we run out and it's such a hassle to run to the store. Also, does anyone else have flashbacks of growing up in a big family with too many linens in the closet?

I liked the point of not stocking up. There's such a trend online of filling your fridges, pantries, and bathrooms with backups of items that might help with an aesthetic snack drawer or whatever, but don't seem very mindful. What if you decide you don't love a product anymore? What if there's something better value next time you go to the store? For some people having all these backups seems to ease their anxieties but for me it does the opposite!

I'm busy decluttering. It's the freedom that I want, I will get rid of most of the things in my life, except my aquariums, fur babies and my feather friends. Got rid of a huge lot of Tupperware this morning and other things I didn't used during this year.

I liked the video but it was weird that you played distracting music (background noise).

I bought all that in my 20s. By my 30s I was over it. Loved the video.

Wooow I can totally relate Melissa! This video explains why I also prefer to be a relaxed minimalist. It does help my mind to be at peace and free from stress. I mean, we are all different in expressing ourselves most specially the way we dress or the way we want our houses to look like, but for me, simplicity, practicality, efficiency, and minimalism works best! Small amount of things give more space, calm and comfort. 🥰 I'm inspired! Thank youuu!!!

Much gratitude for this video. I have been decluttering and noticing that I do not like a lot of things because it makes me high anxiety. I have stopped doing the nail polish ( I am a mom too), no perfumes, purses and other items. It's like a huge weight lifted off my shoulder becoming a minimalist. Much gratitude again for this video, it's really relatable.

That was a really interesting watch because I also don't buy probably 45/50 of these things. Some stuff I didn't even realize that people buy...like extra sheets for adult beds? Seasonal dishware? So strange. I guess I'm more minimalist than I thought.

Same! I don’t buy anything you’ve mentioned anymore and it’s literally changed my life. I had hyperthyroidism and got rid of everything that was causing me stress and healed myself without any medication.

Fab vid - I've only just found you! Brought up in farming/teaching family, for 68yrs I kept everything 'just in case' but overnight the Lord changed me & I've been working towards minimalism ever since. I don't have much energy, so it's not easy, but I will reach my goal. I certainly don't buy most of your list, which is a big help! Thanks v much mx

I did not have a credit card until i wanted to ship flowers to someone. You really need them at times. I like the cash back advantage and i ALWAYS pay the balance in full automatically so NO interest. We all do waste a lot of money. My biggest suggestion is to avoid impulse buying by really thinking about a purchase before buying. I keep things in my "cart" and ponder a lot before buying. I do have way too many clothes for my lifestyle and frequently end up donating.

Great video! I've donated heaps of books- I've quality over quantity. I only kept what i truly love and only buy a book i know I'll like. Love being minimalist.

I have watched minimalist channels for years, and many many "what I don't buy" videos. This is, hands down, the best I've ever seen. Thank you!

When buying sunglasses always check they have full protection against the sun ! Other than perfume (I wear 2 good quality perfumes made from 98% natural ingredients- mostly essential oils) I am with you on this list ! However I do paint my toenails in Summer when wearing sandals as my toes look a little weird otherwise 😆 For the perfect every day bag which is roomy, practical, comfortable to carry- I recommend Kipling brand 👍
