PvP match making is horrible. Absolutely horrible. Solo trials is agonizing. Control is super sweaty. Comp is win one lose one. It’s awful

We were promised a better alternative to the seasonal model in the form of episodes. What we got was the seasonal model again but with more time gating

I had so many friends come back to play crucible. We had so much fun and then…all of the hunter builds got maxed and nobody ever wants to play crucible ever again 😂. Nobody wants to play a “shooter” that has a lobby full of smoke bombs, scatter grenades and clones while hunters literally master the art of running away. Epic failure on Bungies part.

At this point I’m going back to single player games 🤷🏽‍♂️

Lightfall had record levels of creators leaving rightfully so. The seasonal model isn’t sustainable. A company with:
+1, 000 employees
28 year old engine
Industry veterans
A decade of feedback

And all we get is 15 minutes a week of mid story.

My thought the other day is "Why am I grinding now?" I turned down the amount of time I play D2 now and not having any "end point" or a larger over arching story to look forward too. It does really feel like the journey is over, playing the game since the alpha

I haven’t touched d2 since the Elden ring dlc came out. Really showed me the difference in what you should get when spending 50$ on a dlc, and by destiny’s standards the final shape had a lot of content.

Kinda like what happened after Avengers Endgame came out.

The creators made the same video like a 100 times over 🙁 ‘This gun is the BEST GUN EVER’ 🙄 PvP is terrible

"Destiny is solved" is a really good line and an important point

For me it was the story. I was invested in the light vs dark saga for 10 years. I just had to see it through which is why I kept coming back every DLC. That story has now concluded and now I’ve decided to move on, I’ll still keep up with what’s going on through Byf and others but I experienced the ending to the story I’ve been following for the past 10 years so now it’s till next time guardians.

I'm half way through this video and just wanted to say I've been looking at the player count drop as well and it's wild. However, my take os slightly different as to why.

Yes since it's literally the last big expansion (that we know of) but the drop off started 2-3 weeks after the release and I find it very hard to believe majority of the huge influx of players for the release finished the raid and dual Destiny. In fact I believe those 2 particular end game activities had so much of barrier that most people said forget it and just left after the campaign. Also, that 111k of course, as you said, is the peak because most days in the last 30 it's 64k-70k so a lot lower than the peak. That's below Onslaught release and we shall soon see player count in the 30k-40k range when everyone was saying D2 was dying

Some proof of this is I tried using in game LFG for now coming up to 4 weeks for dual Destiny and on most days there are literally ZERO to one group per day...yup zero. How are new players supposed to know how to look for players when Destiny's own in game LFG has literally no one to choose. Oh make your own? Yup did that and it sat empty for 2 hours...yes no one joining.

What about the raid? Just because something is very hard and complex doesn't mean it's good. If the best PvE players take 30-40 hours to complete how is any average player supposed to carve out time?

I'd love to see what % of players since TFS have completed the raid and dual Destiny at least once. I bet it's well below 10% of the 314k peak. Too many barriers and after the campaign what can anyone really do. How many people knew to finish the overthrow stuff 9 times to get khovstov? Very very small %. This whole thing about Bungie making the end game accessible is actually a farce. It's actually the opposite IMO.

I think the game is literally now officially dying and without D3 coming why would someone want to play a 10 year old game where 1/2 the content is sunset amd the other 1/2 has very limited accessibility?

Destiny needs a reboot …most of my friends would be down to play but feel too behind and it’s too confusing for them to catch up. A reset or destiny 3 and some balancing and PvP given the right amount of care would fix the game

I am a Destiny veteran, played from day 1 of Destiny 1 and never stopped, continuing still today. I get why the Content Creator drop off is happening, it makes sense. The Light and Dark saga is over with the death of the Witness(in most people's eyes) But I will play Act 3, and will play until the first Episode. If it's anything near what we are getting now, I'm along for the ride. But if the Episodes aren't for me, it'll officially end my 10+ year Destiny career. Let's hope Bungie keeps cooking!!

Im a beta player and left before final shape to go back to runescape. Got over 6k hours into destiny and was 440 in the world for crucible and one point, had enough of them taking the piss now. Pvp has been a shit show for years now. Solo 6s playlist has been harder than competitive modes for years now💀

I played D1 on and off for the years it was going, but never everyday. D2 was no bueno on launch and I quit for 2yrs. Came back before Beyong Light and have been on and off since then. It's still fun but...
I no longer enjoy PVP. TV has touched on this but it sucks when all I face is pure meta players. Played in a stack for the 1st time in about 4 months....all hunter teams using all meta builds. I used to love Crucible, but can't stand it anymore

As silly as it might sound the new duo missions and having the exotic class items behind that stuff probably pushed away a lot of solo players.

Yeah the game feels like it ended. It’s wrapped up. A perfect time to fully step away or just take a break and explore other games or do some irl things
