It is not technically 3 sixteenth notes. It is one note that is the same duration of 3 sixteenth notes. He plays it accurately. The hits are the dotted 1/8th notes and the 1 e & a are the 16th notes.

I wasn't going to say anything but someone was confused. Being imprecise in music theory explanations is one of my pet peeves.

Nice jay, always good to get down to basic counting to drummers a little weak in this subject. I tell drummers think of it as a ruler and hopefully they know how to read a ruler lol. Look at the ruler and break down an inch and there you go. 🤓👍✌️
