Can we please have higher standards in the cosmetic industry?

Cosmetics and personal care products have all kinds of disgusting chemicals in them that are technically allowed but not good for us at all. It’s gross honestly.

I've noticed that whenever I wear makeup nowadays, my eyes start burning. So I don't wear it as often unless I am going somewhere.

Times like these:
I wish I lived in Europe. USA doesn't care about health and safety. Just look at the food industry!

Seriously, I'm so sick of reporters making these claims but never following up or investigating why this happened. It's like the wild west of product safety in the US and the people whose job it is to let us know just treat these stories like tabloids. In the meantime, the public gets to guess for the rest of their lives if something is safe.

I haven't worn makeup regularly since I was in my early 20's. I'm 42 now. The last time I actually applied makeup just for fun was back in 2013 and it was only once. I am really into taking care of my skin especially since I have eczema. Listening to this I'm glad I made the choice. I've seen videos where the ladies apply the makeup beautifully but my Lord how many different cosmetics can you apply to the bridge of your nose???? All those products can't be healthy.

Is a list published anywhere that lists the cosmetic brands that use PFAS?

I've been wearing less and less makeup since last year. Feeling really good about that decision now! 😳😬 Yikes!

I think there should be a list of products released that have pfas in it, and the companies should take liability and the government should actually care about protecting people now and preservation of our environments. Plastic chemicals pollute our waters, earth, and bodies and governments and corporations aren't taking responsibility.

This is really exhausting to hear. Theres something wrong with everything this country makes. EVERYTHING.

ya'll this is why I only use natural organic makeup, great brands like Ilia, Kjaer Weis, Kosas, Bite Beauty, (and RMS but their owner is questionable) and natural and organic skincare like Yuli, Pai, Mukti! There are so many options out there nowadays esp including POC now! Bonus you generally end up supporting small women-owned businesses

The cosmetics industry is a multi billion dollars industry however there’s little regulations to protect the customers! This is when the government needs to STOP taking the lobbyists money!

Ladies here are just a few When 29 products underwent targeted testing, all of them contained at least four PFAS chemicals of concern. Many of the brands included in the study are ubiquitous in the Australian market, including Revlon, Maybelline, L'Oreal, MAC, Rimmel, Covergirl, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Nars, Smashbox, Urban Decay and Sephora.Jun 27, 2021

I feel like the concerns of the what the product does was kind of broad, they didn't go into detail with what exactly is the main concern. I'm no expert but I know long term exposure to a lot of chemicals can have concerns for cancers and things like that.

This has been known for years. Finally they are taking it out. People speak up. This has been banned in England. In nail polish too

That explains why my gf hasn't put on makeup for years now. That's just how she takes the environment seriously.

Does this include matte lipstick? That stays on longer but is not specifically called longwear
