There's an urban legend going around about Annette when she was transitioning from her Disney career to making beach movies: Supposedly 'Uncle 'Walt' Disney expressed his sentiment that Annette would keep her belly button hidden when in her swim outfits on those beach movies.

Not mentioned was her lifetime friendship with actress Shelley Fabares. They became friends as teens and were best friends. Shelley was at her bedside when she died.

I was born in 77 and remember watching her beach movies on cable in the early eighties. I love Back to The Beach and how she and Frankie were able to make fun of themselves and those old beach films. I always felt she had a unique voice. I remember the day her death was announced and I did not know things were so bad for her in her last year's. I rewatch Back to the Beach yearly in her memory.

To this day I can't believe what happened to her. For most of her life she lived a charmed life then MS set in, 1986. What a beauty and so smart. Had 3 beautiful children. Her first husband divorced her! Can you imagine that? Had to be nuts! May she rest in peace, God bless her.

I remember the Mousekeeter reruns as well. I also remember a short interview on TV when she was in her wheelchair. She was in surprisingly good spirits. Such a trouper!

I am old enough to remember the Mickey Mouse show with Annette. I was 2-3 years old at the time but still can remember watching. (Don’t ask me what I had for lunch yesterday, but I do remember watching it😜).

I remember watching The Mickey Mouse Club with Annette Funicello, Jimmy, and others. I went to the neighborhood
movie theater to watch Beach Blanket Bingo, Muscle Beach Party, Bikini Beach and Fireball 500 and Back to the Beach. Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon movies were the thing back in the mid 60's. This was truly a sad ending for such
a talented woman. God Bless Annette Funicello, her family and friends.

I loved Annette in the Mousketeers. ❤❤So sad that her last years were so difficult. Her 2nd husband truly loved her and took good care of her. 😢
