You're a great teacher Mr TD, i start to learn bass by your vidéos some months ago I start to play in church last week. My ears are not yet good but some others guys were impress by my level, when i'm talking about some theory i learned from you.

Hey Travis, thank you so much for the theory lessons and pattern recognition theropy. I have been learing my arpegios and inversions of late to get them under my fingers. You have unlocked the connection between inversions and their pentatonic cousins in the 5 positions. It is really helping me to find a connection of the use of both scales and licks which stem out of them. I have been drawn to the pentatonic shape and sound from a while ago but seeing how they are connected with the 'modes' escaped me theoretically before now. may God Bless your grace and wisdom.🙏

Travis I found this video to be very informative. I appreciate this. I must admit I was looking forward seeing you demonstrate this with a progression just to hear its application, but I will keep practicing. Thanks

Great video! Great way of explaining. Keep up the great content!
Can you do a future video showing the inversions in context (While playing through a chord progression)?
Theory and practice is good but putting it into an example would be really helpful.
It would be great if you could show joining the arpeggios and pentatonics in context as well.

Thanks for the bass info on arpeggios.

I had a sax teacher who used the same teaching technique that Travis suggested right around the 16:40 mark of the vid. My teacher would write out a four note pattern and I would need to work out the rest of the sequence in my mind. It's a great way to work up your mental chops.

Great lessons. Thank you! Would you please, please, please do once a tutorial for the bassline of "Close to me" from Bill Withers. Having the possibility to watch that bassline being played slowly would be amazing.

Listen, I hate to be a downer, but all the various RPGO fingerings can be illustrated in a few simple graphics. I think what we need demo'ed is how RPGOs are used when creating basslines, runs, and fills. Maybe with examples from actual basslines to popular songs, or better yet, run us through if you were coming up with lines (runs & fills) to a given chord progression. I think that would be really useful/helpful. Thanks!
