Great review on this setup. I purchased it on sale recently for $120. The actual tank I really like, and really like the front opening doors. Those are great quality and for 120 that was worth it for me. I wanted to adopt a beardie at the humane society so this was my quick option to have something setup to bring her home asap. But like you've said, I've quickly replaced the UVB bulb to the one you mentioned, change the bottom substrate, and needed to provide a better basking spot. Even the heat bulb I found to only be getting to 88 with my digital thermometer that I also replaced both the therm and the bulb to a 150watt. I think if someone can score this for a good sale price and KNOWS that fixes need to be made, it is worth it in that aspect. But I totally agree that this is not a beginner friendly setup for someone who would rely on a marketed bearded dragon starter kit and it's a shame this is sold the way it is.

I agree 100 percent on the lid. I will be replacing mine . But the carpet has been a non issue at all. He moves all over tank. I do have other logs in there too. We also keep his nails trimmed and I’m sure that helps. We also take him out a lot. I also agree
with the t5 light fixture. Now we got this for Christmas at $129 for my 10 year old son and with the upgrades makes a great deal ! He is healthy happy and looks great. So if you can get this for a good deal it’s definitely worth it! Great info and review as always !

Hey Chief! Just wanted to tell you I love your videos, and hope others find them when getting their dragons. I just got mine a few days ago, they're a baby (dont know how to tell the gender yet lol), and i managed to find a solarmeter 6.5 from someone that was selling it because they had to get rid of their dragon. I also just had my UVB tube light come in today. It was supposed to come the day i got the dragon, but it didnt. So i was forced to use a coil bulb for the first day or so. The solar meter read 0.2 UVB from it... Now with the tube light it is giving off 2.9 - 3.8 on his basking spot. Your videos have helped me TONS, and i will recommend them to everyone I can :)

Would this be bad for hognose snakes? its curently on sale for 130. Only worry I have is the screen, would replacing the screen create more of an oppertunity for the snake to get out, should I just mount the UVB on the inside?

Have you tested the UVB levels on the arcadia lumenize pro t5 12% UVB D3+ kit? If so, is it as strong as the regular pro T5 12% kit when at 100% brightness?

Do you think you can do a video on seizures in bearded dragons and what the causes are, because it's hard to explain to people when they ask. I try to help as many people as possible, but some just think that I'm crazy when explaining to them the reasons and what they need to do and change. Also people don't Listen when you say to take them to a vet. They think they know better. Videos help to show them that what I'm saying is facts and not just stories
