Did he just... poke his finger in a pot of boiling water?? Please don't try that part at home😅 .
Jacques Pépin shows us two different recipes for cooking corn on the cob - one in pot on boiling water, the other in the microwave. Which one do you think turned out better?

And just when you think he can't get more French, Jacques demonstrates his technique of using a baguette to butter his corn.

There is nothing that says "summer" quite like crisp and buttery corn on the cob.

What you'll need:
Fresh corn (4 ears), salt, bread and butter

The only thing better than eating corn on the cob during a summer evening is a new Jacques Pepin video. Thank you for uploading and I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I like the microwave best because it does not heat up the kitchen, super easy to husk, and tastes delish ! Thank you, Chef !

I'm very lucky because l have a "pick-your-own" farm about 10 minutes away. The farmer's second crop of silver queen corn (planted four weeks after the first one) is at it's peak now! I've never tried the second method the chef demonstrated. I will tonight. Merci!!

My wife grew up in Taiwan. She loved their street sweet corn, which was grilled and a bit charred. I found a way to do this on the grill. I peel the corn, slather butter across the top, then loosely wrap with foil, butter side up. Grill on medium-high heat, flipping after say, 10-15 minutes. She loves it. I like it, too. Especially since it pleases her. ❤

Now really, what famous TV cook would use a slice of baguette with butter to put on your cob of corn! Besides the corn, you have a delicious piece of bread and butter. I never thought of cooking the corn on the cob in the microwave. Jacques is an amazing chef.

Обичам младежкия закачлив поглед на Шеф Пепен и се възхищавам на енергията и познанията му. И любовта му храната, която е заразителна. Винаги научавам нещо практически полезно. Благодаря ви!👏👏

I didn't know how to cook corn on the cob, except how my grandma did. She would clean it, but keep the husks on, wet it, wrap it in wax paper, place four in a square glass pan, cover it with saran wrap, add water, and microwave it. I forget for how long. This looks so much easier! Thanks!

I had never thought about cooking corn in the microwave, makes sense when you think about it given corn is mostly water and the outer leaves sort of act like a container to keep the heat and steam on the inside the cob.

I love it with salt, pepper, and butter. Delicious.

So simple either way. The baguette trick is genius. Plus, you have delicious bread and butter seasoned with corn flavor. Maybe even a dash of Tajin to sort of make an eloté effect. Happy Summer everyone.

In Québec, it is the tradition to make "épluchette", from "éplucher", to peel. It is a big party where corn is the main course. Everybody participates in peeling the corn, then it is boiled. Each family has its recipe. Some will add some leaves to the water, some will add milk and others, beer. In my family it is usually beer and a slab of salted pork. Nothing gets wasted...

Buttered bread to butter the corn is a great idea. Will do that next time.
