When you said most presenter's don't BOTHER telling stories about the music....i just smiled, used to be a radio presenter for a certain online station and hosted a Sunday show and i tailor made it...the listeners were captivated and entertained. Really loved it a lot. Been looking into starting my own thing but i'm overwhelmed, but hopefully soon i'll be up and running. This was really helpful.

FYI, from a Station Manager and Host perspective. Online or not online, please don't break any discrimination laws, being online doesn't protect you from litigation and definitely don't discuss any issues that are before the Law Courts now, either.
Wise to ask your Station Manager or Content/Programme Director as to what Station policy is on editorial comments, satire or straight up comments at your Station. Format consideration is always important to know, as it is the Station's Image and you don't mess with the branding.
Some Stations love Presenters that want to talk/comment a lot, whilst others are very "less talk, more music". Know the rules and beware of not polarising your audience, especially if you are a Music Jock.
Have fun always, bring your A Game to every broadcast.
My advice is keep it light and bright and legal. The Music are the Bricks the Presenter is the cement in between. This "Radio Wall can't stand without either, but really, who is impressed by the cement part of any wall?👍

I always do my research about the music I played. I still want my presenters to do so.

What if it were those radio shows that are stories like the old times back then if I'm wondering.

I have a question. My wife & I have a few online radio shows. I was thinking about pulling our show segments and making audiograms for YouTube. More exposure. Some of our segments have instrumental background music. Will YouTube kick those off? Or will I be ok if I state I don't own any musical rights?

Music is boring. Interviews of people who are on the No Fly List can be very nteresting. Debunking "fake news' is relevant. Same Old Stuff doesn't cut it anymore.
