It is a matter of those days when the war of 1971 was over. In those days, All India Radio's Urdu service used to broadcast three programs of Farmaishi film songs -in the morning, afternoon and at night. In the afternoon programme- Aap Ki Paasand- the names, numbers and messages of Pakistani POWs were broadcasted by POWs by themselves The count of prisoners of war can be found from there...from the archive of All India Radio. Yeh silsila 2-3 saal chala thaa.

Mr. researcher. 93000 was not a number for army soldiers. it was a number for prisoner of wars. Pakistan had 3 divisions in East Pakistan and each comprised of 10000 troops which combinely forms 27000 army personal. Later in war, some troops were also sent as aid but that number would never reach 93000 which is exaggerated. general Niazi himself admitted that he commanded 45000 troops in which 34, 000 were combatant troops and remaining 11, 000 were non-combatants, supporting men. 6000-7000 soldiers died also. The real history is that there were no more than 30000-40000 soldiers with non-combatant personal and families of army personal, administrative civilians and their families of former East Pakistan etc. 30000-40000 Pakistani soldiers vs 1 lac mukti bahni guerillas and 3 lac Indian soldier. Greatly outnumbered with no more supplies and moral support from West Pakistan says it all. Surrender
