10 FORGOTTEN 80s (Rock) Bands That Vanished Without A Trace

#forgotten #bands

Once, they were on the rise. All of them gone, as if they never existed. Legendary bands were everywhere in the 80’s, but not all of them lived on. Others charted all the way to top 10… Only to vanish without a trace. No farewell albums, no scandals, no warnings. Just silence.

What happened? Was their destruction a result of the industry's beast that devoured everything? Did they self-destruct? Or had something far stranger than that pushed them into the shadows?

Thanks for watching! I know the voice-over still needs some work — I’m currently testing different styles and settings. Feedback is always welcome, and I appreciate your patience as the channel grows! 🙏🎸

Jeff Healy died of the cancer that made him blind. His song "Angel.Eyes" was a massive hit and a beautiful song. RIP Jeff.

Not sure the source of the voiceover... it's pretty bad. Makes the video irritating to watch.

Well Jeff Healey is dead, so that mystery has been solved. 👏

I've only remember few of these bands and I'm a child of the 1980s.

Glass Tiger was around for a long time, they just didn't have hits outside of Canada.

Of course Hasselhoff managed to stay around and annoy most of us !

It just a voice, no music. Moving on.

None of them are forgotten. They had their time in the sun and will remembered fondly by many.

Re: The Beat Group, also known as The English Beat, a fine ska/pop group that's still playing live. Regarding bands showing up, making a splash, and then disappearing, that happens a lot, especially if sounds are too dated or the bands can't sustain their short-term success. If sales figures are not met, labels drop bands. They either continue on their own or with another, usually smaller label, or they split up and either get day jobs and still play in bands or end up backing other, more successful musicians.

Many many years ago there was such band as Device and they had only one album 22B3 .But videos from there freaked out a lot of young people in the 80s.

Speaking just a little bit faster, could save everyone time in their day!! I couldn’t get past Glass Tiger, because you enjoy listening to your own voice so much.

I love Til Tuesday. Own their first two albums to this day.

BTW she did the duet with Geddy Lee for the song Time Stand Still. Far from forgotten here.

This is stupid
Millions of bands quit early 90s due to change of landscape

Wendy James of Transvision Vamp is currently still singing on stages. I saw an ad somewhere for her playing a live gig in March 2025...
She has never stopped playing live.

'Til Tuesday is supposed to be having a reunion starting in May 2025. But Aimee Mann has been performing solo for many years now!

Fun boy three reformed with the rest of the specials sone years bavk, released a new album and toured before Terry Hall died. He did a great album with Mushtak back in the early 2000s as well as a load of collaborations duri g the 80s and 90s.
