PART 4 of Underrated 80s Rock Bands That Are Now Forgotten But Deserve More Love | Lost Rock Bands of the 80s

The 1980s were a golden era for rock, packed with legendary bands like Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, and Def Leppard. But not every band got their due. Some 80s rock bands were ahead of their time, others fell victim to bad industry decisions, and some just vanished into obscurity.

🎶 In this video (PART 4), we’re diving deep into another 10 forgotten 80s rock bands that had the talent, the sound, and the stage presence to make it big—but for one reason or another, disappeared without a trace. If you’re a fan of classic rock, glam metal, and hard rock, this is a nostalgic trip back to the bands that should have been legends.

🔥 Airkraft? Wisconsin’s answer to Journey—arena-ready hooks, but no major label love.
🔥 Steelheart? That voice could shatter glass—and a freak accident shattered their rise.
🔥 The B’zz? Power-pop perfection from Chicago that should’ve ruled the early '80s airwaves.
And we'll put some shine on 7 other hidden gems.

Cinderella was huge in the 80s. Not sure why they are on this list. Everyone knows Cinderella

Enuff Z'nuff (17 studio albums), Sword (Canadian Metal Band), and Warlock are just some of my favorites. So glad you mentioned Fifth Angel!

I am so glad I waited until the end. I've been a Saigon Kick fan since the first album.

Enjoyed the video, but Steelheart and Cinderella do not belong on this list. Neither were obscure. "Love Is On The Way" by Saigon kick shot all the way up to number 12. It was a huge hit. But I really did enjoy the video, thank you for sharing.

Coney Hatch and Shotgun Messiah are my votes for bands that should have been HUGE! Still listen to them today!

Shotgun Messiah, Vain, Lillian Axe, Roxx Gang, Sleez Beez, Saigon Kick.

Off the top of my head, these are the most underrated bands of the entire decade.

Been listening to Saigon Kick since 91. I have all their albums, and they stay in my rotation to this day. "Edgar "from "Devil In the Details" and "Month Of Sundays" from their first album are hands down my favorite songs by them. Those guys were so underrated it's criminal. I love all their stuff. Way versatile band. Same with D.A.D.. I've been listening to them since the late 80's. Their first album is a great album. "Soft Dogs" which came way later is one of my favorite albums still. Real bluesy feel on that one. Thanks for posting this :)

Admittedly, bands from that era that I bring up but nobody seems to know, are like Gorky Park, EZO, Impeliteri, Pink Cream 69, Vain, Juliet, Wildside and even Tigertailz, to name a few. As when I think "Obscure Rock Bands" from the era, Saigon Kick and Cinderella never come to mind. A bit like having Dramarama and White Lion on there.

Enuff z' Nuff is a band that comes to my mind for being obscure. Another one is XYZ, and Guy Mann Dude (seriously, no joke. His name *is* Guy Mann Dude) and was mentioned briefly in Metal Edge back in the late 80's early 90's. He did a cover of the Rolling Stones "Paint it Black".

If you cull through past issues of Metal Edge and RIP magazines you're bound to find some more obscure bands that had mention of their first debut album, then they seemed to vanish. A lot of these "flash in the pan" glam "L.A. Sleaze" bands I never could find their albums and I never heard them on Z-rock 50 (a very new, controversial top hit radio program that aired on Sunday evenings in 1990-91' when one of my local radio stations finally picked it up). I tuned in quite a bit as that's how most of these bands got any airplay, for one. Secondly, it was a way to keep updated on the music scene back then too pre-internet days. 😊
