"Lifetime Fluid" lol good one FCA. Sounds like they want to sell me a new transmission every 100k miles.

Great advice. Transmission is heart of the car. Nobody wants any transmission problems or codes that would trigger Check Engine light and unable to pass smog check.

So I bought a new pan/filter for my 2014 ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi and a zf8hp70. I got the pan directly from ZF but the new one is shallower then the factory one on the truck now. Is this the wrong pan for my truck???

thank you bro i put some new trans fluid in my 2016 chrysler 300... i don't think its ever been changed for 200k miles. gonna go back and put on the new trans filter too but at least i got some fresh fluid in there to try and preserve the trans for another 100k or more

Where did you buy your parts from? Can you put the link? Thanks

Do not trust "fluid for life". Replace the fluid every 50000 km's (safe interval) or get a different vehicle that doesn't force you to not service your vehicle.

Hey I was watching another ZF manufacture video saying that they recommend doing this every 50k’miles even though they produce these transmission for so many makers like Bmw, FCA and many more etc. dodge says it’s for life Bmw says 80k miles and ZF that actual maker says they recommend every 50k. Weird the companies set their own standards

My 17RT Durango in the morning when I shift. It has a hard shift but when it warms up it's fine what do you think

Atf expands over time with it getting hot and cooling down, without an exact way to check the level I'd be skeptical about doing it, I mean what if I need to know how much to pull out if needed.i agree 100% no atf lifetime

Very informative, thank you for posting it.
I look forward to watching the service video of this transmission.

The transmission manufacturer says 100k km for normal duty and 50k km for heavy duty. So about 60k/30k miles. I've got that trans in my truck and my friend works for the city and said they're having failures at 80k on the ZF 8sp on their work trucks.

Thanks for the great video! Please please could you perhaps help me? I am always getting -700 mbar clutch E fill pressure after adaptation. I cannot find anywhere an information if this is outside of the allowed pressures. My transmission when the fluid temp is over 70-80 C, jerks slightly always before shifting 1-2 and 5-6. Very very slightly 2-3 and nobody can help me. Not even ZF official repair shop. Mechatronics has been checked and entire transmission rebuilt with new parts. No one knows why it jerks :-(

I just bought a 2017 grand Cherokee 4x4 with 90k miles. Idk if it has been changed .. should I do it right now or is it too late and wait and hope for the best? There’s no issue right now
