Diegetic sound is any sound that you hear in a scene that is ACTUALLY in the scene so like characters in the scene can hear what you're hearing too. For example a conversation with two characters, you can hear them talking, the characters in the scene can hear themselves talking.

Non-diegetic sound is sound that ONLY you the AUDIENCE can hear, for example the soundtrack of the film. The characters within a scene can't hear the orchestral drama you're hearing when they're snogging behind a hat at the end of a movie.
