This is the wireless system I’ve been waiting for. Locking 3.5mm jack is an underrated upgrade.

Can you imagine shooting weddings a decade ago with this type of gear 😭 my setups were so janky man

Look at how far the industry has come. I remember purchasing the original Rode Wireless Film-Maker Kit for $399 back in like 2015. We now have two transmitters, 32 bit float internal recorder, and a much smaller unit.

Well done to Rode.

I hope I can turn off that new record-on record-off button. It’s gonna get tapped by mistake at some point. You’re right about the finish, when wearing it on a t-shirt I don’t really want it shining and taking attention (plus that new big record light).

I use black washi tape on my Wireless Go II for that shiny surface as well. Way less noticeable if you’re wearing it with their magnet kit. It’s not ideal, but if you plan on keeping it fully covered at all times, you could try to use a really light sandpaper to create some texture for the gaff tape to better grab onto it. Might not slip off as easily. But I’m with you, a matte texture on those would have been nice on the “Pro” model.

The 'every 4 hours' timecode jam will be because the timing crystals in most cameras can vary by a field (half a frame on 25/30 fps cameras) every 30 mins - the Rode devices themselves might be more accurate but this re-jamming will be because of the variance in cameras.

I just realized the whole video didn't have any music and it felt so good and calm, made me focus on the product! love it!

Did he really not include a mic sound test or did I skip it? Wtf?

Great video dude! However, I did wait 16 minutes for an audio sample of the 32 bit float vs 16 bit float of the RWG2 and was left unfulfilled 😂

Another improvement idea, though it likely would add cost: A small 'pelican-like' charging case with splash proof connectors and latches instead of the zippered fabric unit.

Somehow I hated Rode for being expensive and not precisely the best audio, but this time I have to say I'm impressed. This looks amazing, but that's thanks to DJI Mic, it made them improve a lot just because the old version was worse in every way. Hopefully this device makes DJI release a powerful system for the DJI Mic 2

The feature i'm wishing to see is to be able to sync more devices to it. Like 5 lavaliers with their transmiters, a boom with transmiter, and a single receiver.

Totally agree about the shiny finish. I use gaff tape on my v1 Rode Go to cover up the shiny finish. I really don't know why Rode decided to stick with the same form factor, either. Maybe they're working on a real UHF update to their other wireless system. I can't wait for Curtis Judd's review of the lavs. For $399 including lavs, they can't be that great... but we'll see.

This set is a steal. Really looking forward to using it in the field soon.

Was just about to get the DJI mic... thank goodness I waited! Well done Rode

I would really like to see some more transmitters in the Rode Wireless Pro series, like a handheld mic with cardioid capsule and a XLR plugin transmitter with P48 power.

DJI will definitely come up with 32bit audio soon in their mics! I switched from Rode go II to the DJI mic and I love them so much more, they are also much smaller. Can't wait for their upgrade!

This is a MUST for me - Can't wait to pick these up. Great video Caleb!

Rode said this mic turns on and off automatically with camera is that the case?

I agree with the big logo and glossy front. I don’t know why we have to advertise rode logo when we pay to them
