India-China Border Standoff: India's EAM Jaishankar Says "Ties Significantly Disturbed"

India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that the bilateral relations between India and China are 'significantly disturbed'. He also noted that the primary issue between the two neighbouring nations is the patrolling of the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

While speaking at an event titled ‘India, Asia and the World,’ hosted by the Asia Society and the Asia Society Policy Institute in New York, S. Jaishankar said that, “It took us (India and China) 14 years to send back ambassadors after the war and another 12 years to reach a modus operandi. The basis for that was to develop a relationship ensuring peace in the border area."

“To maintain peace, we established a series of agreements, each going into greater detail to ensure the border remained peaceful,” he added. However, he noted that in 2020, China moved a large number of forces to the LAC, thereby violating these agreements. “The focus over the last four years has primarily been on disengaging the troops. Right now, both sides have forward-deployed troops,” the External Affairs Minister mentioned.

Jaishankar circled back on his previous comment about the 75% progress on the India-China border dispute. "When I said 75% of it has been sorted out, I was asked in a way to quantify—it’s only regarding the disengagement,” he said.

India too should strengthen its Border defence cz its inevitable that there will be a clash or a war in the near future..All this China built up is they r preparing n having a n advantage on India.India too should not just response wat China did but should itself strengthennits muscles by building infrastructure in the border regions n send a msg to China that they r active n r prepared too for any eventuality..This will act as a detterence cz merely diplomatic wont work cz China is building on the ground n at the same time talk n India should do the same ..

"We the people..." of Indian origin disagree with our repesentative Jaishankar on following things he said:

1. Indians consider Tibetans as our neighbours, not China. We never had any direct Sino-India border.
2. Chinese conduct with Indian republic from 1950 is not credible. Nothing they say can be trusted from panchsheel to border tranquality agreements
3. We condemn china to not allow equal trade and consider "We the people's..." markets as dumping grounds.
4. Talk of friendship is hollow talk and we do not want anything chinese in India.
5. We condemn chinese hegemony in Asia..and occupier of Tibet Yunnan, Mongolia, Manchuria and Uighur is not acceptable to "We the people..."
6. We condemn MEA and Armed forces to not abduct PLA and negotiate from position of strength.
7. Land of Mahadev, Kailash cannot be China, land wise.
8. Minister refused to acknowledge stapled visas and denigration of human rights of Indians vis-a-vis communists.
9. China uses Pakistan to promote instability in India which is not raised by minister Jaishankar.

CCP has no credibility in our mindset and we the people...can disagree with compromised democrazy of India exploited by CIA, CCP etc., but we matter not our mantri nor China in our value system of vedic sanatan heritage. Ni hao...

I am from India, currently on vacation in Bangladesh. India must-always remember that the gap in wealth, economic power and military strength between China and India is even greater than the gap in Olympic gold medals.

China: Gold: 40, Silver: 24, Bronze: 29
Hong Kong, China: Gold: 2, Silver: 0, Bronze: 2
India: Gold: 0, Silver: 0, Bronze: 5
