Release the bees! We just hit 1 million Likes on Facebook, and as promised, the ever-generous Pat Cassels agreed to wear a beard of one hundred million (or less) bees. Bees (unlike wasps) do not want to sting you for several reasons. First off it is quite counterproductive to sting you because a bee's stinger is attached to vital organs. This means when it stings you, its stinger gets lodged in your skin and the organs are pulled out as it pulls off of you. Bees will sting you if you pose a threat to their nest and/or queen. Pat posed no threat to the hive or queen, and the bees were probably also slightly sedated beforehand.
