Hi Adam. The issue I find is that when starting with ad, a new ad "post" with no likes on it makes it harder to gain trust. With the boosted post you might have a few hundred people that have liked and image which helps with some form of social proofing wouldnt it make sense to boost a post? What would you say? (Im a photographer that trains photographer world wide)

You touched on the reason I DO use boosted ads, its strictly for brand awareness on posts that in no way seek to convert, sure you may see brand awareness as fluffy but in certain industries its quite prudent especially at early stage when organic engagement still needs a kick in the pants. It also can be fairly cheap if you're only running on a BA side as a small dollar amount can get you to where you need to be.

All that said I do agree that if your goal in measurable conversions, then Ads > boosted posts.

Ad campaigns require a minimum reach of 200, 000 thousand people. So if you are in a rural that over a 30 mile radius (in all directions) only has 45, 000 people, it won't let you run a campaign. So, how should a rural business owner interact with social media, boosted posts, etc given this?

What if you just want to boost the 'post' and not an 'ad'. When someone clicks, I'd like for them to stay on the post and not redirect, but is that no longer possible?

Now this is confusing, because when I try to compare using a regular ad campaign versus a boosted post with a link, I get more leads on my boosted post compared to my regular campaign ad (which is not a post). Then again, the results that I am getting are not that great - I do not get a lot of clicks from my reaches. I've tried every tactic that I can find, including audience targeting, but I'm beginning to lose faith on running ads on Facebook. I do hope that my ad results will change over time positively.
