The protestors should be liable in civil court for the damages incurred by people who missed flights, lost wages, were denied medical attention, or any other damages that can be found.

Driving is a privilege – not a right; if the protesters are going to use their 1st Amendment right and protest, that’s FINE. But if they purposely block a public freeway the DMV should revoke their privilege to drive and take away their driver’s licenses, plus fine them $5, 000 each and sentence them to 30 days incarceration – none of this ankle monitor nonsense. When drunk driver's who don't even injure or kill anyone will get their licenses suspended. Remember, these protesters held thousands of people hostage. Hostage. Nurse and doctors couldn't get to work. What gives these protesters the right to think that they can detain people.
