We drove the ID.4 and found it very pleasant, sure-footed, well built. Nice car. In the U.S. though, the non-Tesla charging network blows. If you're planning on taking it over the road, you'd be much happier with a Tesla. Second car? Buy the ID.4 if it suits you.

I think that the main reasons the sales are up here in the US is because it's a car that you can actually go and get. Every other EV, there are huge wait-lists to get and, since opening the plant in Tennessee, they're producing mainly EV's and have made and overstock of them. So you can actually buy them in a reasonable time frame.

I've had my 2023 ID4 for two months and am very happy with it. The ride and handling are really really nice. It feels like a luxury car, despite being affordable. Since it is a car, and not a smartphone, I prioritize handling over software. But, speaking of smartphones, ID4 comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I consider that a major plus. Android Auto IS my infotainment software. It pops up automatically every time I get in the car, looks nice, has tons of apps available, and everything gets frequent updates. The native ID4 software is nothing to write home about, but I rarely touch it. And, when I have, I haven't noticed the lagginess people complained about in previous versions.

We‘ve done over 40.000 kms since mid December 2021 in our ID4 Pro. Fantastic car.

In Canada today( in my case BC), For EVs under $55, 000
- $5, 000 Federal and $4, 000 BC incentives plus $700 towards charger.
Tesla 3 Rear Wheel drive (Base model) = $54, 900 NET $45, 900
Vs VW ID.4 = $48, 570 minus $9, 000 in Gvt. credits = $39, 570. 🔺- $6, 330

I passed on the ID4 because there is no heat pump and severe software issues. The ID4 may be a better choice than the Bolt due to the crazy dealer markups on the bolt. The ID4 is priced so close to the model 3 that unless you really need the space, the model 3 is still the better bang for the buck. The ID4 RWD should be priced around 35K (same price as Bolt EUV premium plus dealer markup).

I own the id.4, yes EA is not the best charging network, but they are starting to replace some of the chargers in our area and the new ones are quite good. The car is solid, like luxury car solid. Not a fan of the UI or haptic buttons, but overall the 2023 id.4 using the 3.1 software has been reliable.

In the UK I got quotes yesterday for the VW ID.4 which is in stock (12 days for delivery) and the cars I looked at were around £ 37K. The BYD Atto 3 is also around £ 37K which is a completely unknown brand in the UK and frankly I was shocked it was that price. I would rather buy the VW ID.4 than risk the residuals of the BYD Atto 3.

I bought my first 2023 VW ID 4 AWD PRO S on 10/31/22. Loved it except for color combination of Pure Gray with Galaxy interior. Traded it for my second 2023 VW ID 4 RWD PRO S on 3/20/23 in Opal White with Cosmic Interior with white accents. We also bought 2023 Tesla Model 3 RWD with LFP battery. Test drove 2023 MODEL Y Dual Motor. I would choose the iD 4 over Tesla for now. However, Tesla will win the EV war vs GM, Ford, VW, and Hyundai. Tesla only long term threat to dominance is BYD.

VW is not accepting orders in the USA for ID.4. Inventory is very limited, and most are the "Pro" model at $55K plus. Personally, I'd go with a Model Y at that price.

I bought the iD4 last March brand new cost me £31, 000 for the 52kw one as it was all I could afford at the time and then the price started going up and after driving to France we decided to sell it in October with 7000 miles and got £34000 for it so yes it was a bargain.

I just purchased the ID.4S which has the smaller battery but all of the S package goodies. I got $10, 000 off the sticker price or $35, 290... I had to lease it to get the 7500 tax credit up front and that cost $699 for the lease aq fee but honestly after the dealer offered the extra 2500 off and had ZERO add on fees I was sold. This car seems UNDER PRICED!!

Its rather easy to understand why car as example here in Denmark dont sell. In general anything over 43.000 USD is too expensive for most. Example the Mg4 is 41.000 USD here. Thats why the micro cars are so sold. The cheapest Id4 is 48.000

Not in Europe they’re not! Try £50k for a decent version in UK which is $62, 000 USD! Meanwhile a Tesla Model Y RWD is £43k ($53k USD). How VW think they will sell many in Europe on that basis is beyond me.

By the way, we live in Tampa FL metro area. Plenty of inventory of all configurations. Price set at MSRP or below. Prices range from small battery at $40, 000 to AWD PRO S at $54, 000. Model Y is cheaper now at $49, 900 for base model if you want AWD. Personally, I have had RWD and AWD and do not feel I need AWD or Dual Motor in FL. Range wise ID 4 and Model Y are close enough. Model Y Long Range is better, but practically not needed even on road trips.

People are buying them in Chattanooga. The workers get them interest free I believe and at or below MSRP. If your near the area it makes financial sense to buy id4. That the whole point of their factory location.
