I found the part where Elizabeth kept getting ready for her date really sad.

When she was kneeling over Sue and trying to revive her and said "you're the only part of me that's lovable" (or something to that effect) I actually started to cry. I really resonated with that.

There is another layer beyond beauty: addiction. If you consider the substance as being drugs or alcohol (mostly referred to as substances in real life) it keeps making sense: it does transforms you into a "better" version of yourself and you still neeed to sober up to your former self every now and then. And yes, it also takes an iriversable toll on you both phsically and mentally and there is no coming back from that unless you either find a ballence or terminate the addiction completely. Take care of yourself and keep your friend close, show them this movie if they are strugglling. 🤗

Brilliant film! The only real gripe I had was that I felt the monster blood splattering sequence went on for way too long lol It honestly just felt goofy and super out of place. But aside from that, damn near-perfect body horror movie!

The ending dragged on a little too long for my liking but it was a solid flick. Just wish they ended the flick with Sue (and her dreams) falling apart Infront of the audience instead of going for the radioactive waste robocop monster at the end.

I saw this last night and went in with zero expectations. Safe to say my mind was blown (no pun intended). Easily my favorite movie of the year.

Crazy how she’s playing a 50 year old but she’s like 62 in real life! I’m 43 and remember being a high schooler in the 90’s looking at her as a “hot milf”.. Even though I don’t use those terms anymore she’s still stunning at her age! Love me some Demi! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

The part that made me go wide-eyed in shock and sadness was Elisasue saying, ‘it’s still me.’ There is so much wrapped up in those three words. After all her transformations, she uncovers that it’s always been her. Sue/Elisasue are parts of the whole that make up Elisabeth. There is a tragic acceptance of herself in that moment.

To add to that, ‘it’s still me’ communicates a heartbreaking desperation to be recognized and seen for all that she is - the parts of her that she deems lovable and their opposites. It distills all that Elisabeth has been yearning for - recognition and acceptance. But she was entirely unaccepted. Not just cast aside, but literally, violently, rejected by the men who put her in this position. Elisasue is an outward reflection of the torment caused by those disgusting male producers, shareholders, cameramen, etc.

The gore and bloodiness at the end of that scene say a lot, I think: we all have ‘blood’ on our hands, both as victims and perpetrators of the impossible standards fed to us since birth.

Elisabeth eating chicken was brilliant. What came first the chicken or the egg?

My I saw this movie yesterday and it was good. I had to pick my jaw off the floor when it finished. I was equal parts enthralled and disgusted and honestly it’s the most visceral reaction I’ve had to a film in years! Movies like THIS is why horror fans go to theaters.
