Canada is not America lite. And if Trump and his cronies think Canadians want to be a part of the USA, they are in for a big surprise. We, Dave and Deb are politely saying. “Hard pass, Trump,” to that 51st state nonsense. From free healthcare and hockey and our great Canadian values, this is why Canada will never join America. 🇨🇦

To our Canadian friends, apologies that we said Melting pot and meant Mosiac. We have always been proud that Canada is a Mosaic of Cultures rather than being a melting pot. We even used a mosaic-type graphic and then continued to say melting pot. I didn't catch it during editing, and I deeply regret that. We have always thought of Canada as a mosaic since public school and completely miss spoke. I also apologize to the Bloc Québécois and Green Party; we should have included all parties. Our deepest apologies.

We in Canada didn't wait years to join the fight in the 2 World Wars, we were there in 1914 and 1939 at the beginning. In WW2 we put 1 million men in uniform out of a population of 12 million. We were there in Korea as well. We are your best friends, remember 1979 in Iran. We hid some of your embassy staff. During 911 we housed many of your citizens in Newfoundland who were stuck when American airspace was closed. We are your best friends period. We don't insult our friends. We support them. The rhetoric coming from a draft dodger who berates his own troops doesn't hold much water with us. We respect everyone no matter where they come from. GOD BLESS CANADA ...

The UK, Australia and New Zealand are right with our Canadian sisters and brothers. Always have been, always will be, thick and thin. The US has never really been part of our family (although they have always wanted to be, like the unpopular child at the kiddies birthday party) but we have needed them at times and unfortunately Canada now has an annoying neighbour in them. Stand up and know that your Commonwealth siblings are ready to stand up with you!
