My dad passed away in April from Alzheimer's. It's a terminal disease so all you can do is watch your loved one fade away. Any advancements in this area are very welcome, no matter how small. Kudos to the researchers!

My grandmother participated in studies in the '90s... thanks to all who understand how important it is for these studies.

Still believe there is not enough research on diet, how our food is made/grown, the chemicals used. There needs to be a database for pts to detail their go-to foods, to see if there is a common link and then to analyse those foods.

I've entertained both Dementia and Alzheimer Medical Facilities from the Northwest to Texas. Often the UNITS will be divided by rooms from bad to worst & I have worked going from Dormitory to Dormitory seeing the STAGES of this Decline.... anything that could do some Good is a blessing.

I lost my granny (age 89) in Nov 2019. Too late for her. I lost my other granny (Liver cancer killed her, but she had early stage Alzheimers as well) in 2012. Too late for her too.

I wonder what natural analog is for lecanemab? Generally speaking, a lot of drugs are laboratory modifications of compounds that exist in the natural world. I wish there was more transparency on the development.

This is good news for so many with alzheimers. It doesn't help my mother- or father-in-law but perhaps it is going to help many others.

Crossing the brain blood barrier is tough to get across for any drug.

This is not the first MAb (monoclonal antibody) against amyloid-beta. But, aducanumab, bapineuzumab, gantenerumab, solanezumab, and lecanemab did not show any significant effect, in numerous previous studies. I'd like to see these positive lecanemab results be duplicated, since previous studies, on the same MAb showed it next to useless. Although the original treatment cost, of $56K/year, is now halved, because of recent legislation, that's still a lot of money.

I didn’t hear about “improving cognition” I heard about “slowing deterioration”—not the same. This doesn’t “fix things”—so it’s only for *prevention* of decline.
They are sort of mixing the conclusions up a bit…
