12:53 One detail I love is that Luffy turned down A LITERAL MOUNTAIN OF FOOD and prioritized accompanying Robin, and so did the rest of the crew. This seems like an obvious thing to do, but remember this is Luffy we are talking about. He was already running towards the tavern when Robin called him, most likely just to tell him she was going to see Saul and would join them at the tavern later. And Luffy said "nope, we're going with you"
I just thought that was incredibly sweet and a nice way to show how important thanking Soul is to Luffy, as well as being there for Robin ❤

An interesting detail is that the WHOLE crew went to see robins reaction, and the straw hats, when on an island, never move together like this, always in diferent groups, just show how important robin is to everyone of them. They will never leave her alone, so damn sweet.

i also love the moment robin gets luffy‘s attention,
luffy is in „meat mode“, with a literal giant feast waiting for him
but robin saying hey in a normal speaking voice gets luffy to instantly stop and prioritise her 😭

my absolute favorite thing abt the chapter (of many, for the record) was that in the flashbacks, one of the characters speaking about robin says she has the "eyes of a cold-blooded killer" (or something to that effect) and then of course later saul tells her she has her mothers kind eyes. absolutely BODIED me

The action and adventures are always great, but it's these kind of moments that make it the treasure it is.

That last page had me in tears. We rarely see Robin show emotion even in very stressful situations, but the moment she heard Saul was alive she began to tear up. Now she reunites with him and she is full on bawling. It was a surprise and a damn good one at that. I also like how Robin looks like she's practically adopted Bonney. They look so cute together. Also it's interesting to note that since Bonney is no longer keeping herself at an older age she isn't constantly eating anymore. Keeping her Devil Fruit active all that time must've been as taxing, maybe even more, as Law having Room active over the entirety of Dressrosa the entire time they were there. This chapter was great and I can't wait for more Elbaf.

You mention One Piece being about Love. I couldnt agree more.

When people critique so many of the deaths or danger being undercut in the story i think it has a lot to do with that idea. Tragedy is for the past seems to be something of a driving force in Oda's writing. In the present Luffy brings love and light and triumph everywhere he goes and this dichotomy between past and present is made even more explicit with Luffy being the bearer of the Sun God's power.

Considering just how many loved ones each Strawhat has lost from their own past, seeing one of them get back in touch with one was a real delight to say the least! Having everyone there to witness that touching reunion is the icing on the cake, and Luffy's smile is the cherry on top!

I'm also fond of how Luffy initially was ready to eat, but Robin calls him and he shifts priorities without hesitation and the rest of the crew follows as well.

I love Robin's expression so much in the panel where Luffy is insisting he join her to see Saul. She's so dang happy that all her favorite people are going to be together.
