I Almost Lost Faith in Thinkpads.

I've been noticing a sharp decline in quality for the Lenovo Thinkpad series, but with the new Thinkpad T14 Generation 5, I had some optimism due to the exceptional reparability. Let's see if this is actually any good.

This is a more realistic framework for those of us outside the US, thank you Lenovo for keeping replaceable components

Once businesses start getting rid of these in 4-5 years after their lease is up I bet these will be god tier used laptops.

So it's a cross between a modern aluminum, well-built laptop cross with a thinkpad DNA and it's repairable. Honestly seems p good.

I bought a p51. It isnt a new model. But i upgraded it with 64gb ram and 2tb storage. Boy is now a beast and i think its better than latest intel macbook pro. I will change to 4tb ssd later.

8:27 just wanna say my t14 g1 after daily use for 4 years hasn't given me any problems. not that I push this thing to it's limits very often but I've used it enough the battery it came with is well past 1.5k cycles at 70% battery health. i guess I'm just saying it's reliable and the screen issues might vary from case to case, with repairs always being an option. i love this thing

I absolutely love your content, its a shame about your subscribers. It's almost a ritual to me at this point. Your editing style to relaxing voice, its cozy and a vibe.

Keep up the amazing work man!

I have been using my t14 gen 1 with ryzen cpu. It has been my daily for years now. Got it open box for 750, and it was so worth it.

You are lucky to have the silver-aluminum model...Unfortunately the black model is made out of plastic and feel really bad whenever you have to lift the laptop. Every single time I hear squeaky plastic and the whole thing feels like a chromebook. T480 is miles ahead in terms of build quality. T14 gen 5 in my eyes in not an upgrade, but rather lenovo's attempt to sell us a cheaper laptop only because of 2 RAM slots? Also, despite countless complaints on their forum and on reddit, they still soldered ports onto the motherboard and then bragged about repairability, lol.

I just put an m.2 and 8GB stick of RAM in my T440s and it's like a brand new laptop with Mabox Linux. Keep up the good work.

T480 is the last model of Lenovo I would personally buy. I'm tired of this dumb trend of soldered ram and storage that's anti-repair and promotion of e-waste.

Modern Thinkpads are getting worse and worse.
They are not unique anymore :(
