Button quail eggs in just 6 weeks!

It's crazy... we just hatched these button quail last month in the 50 year old incubator and now they started laying eggs!

My coturnix quail they lay eggs at 7 weeks old.

Just seems like it would be so much work for such a little yield. I get that the yield happens more often and quicker than with chickens but the meat and eggs is just so small to deal with and you have to go through the same hassle of defeathering. Think I'll just stick with chickens if I ever get to that point. And sheep. I'm going to have sheep too.

You guys should get Ayam ketawas they are also called laughing chickens.look them up.

You should have coturnix quail they take 18 days to hatch they take up to 2 months to lay eggs and to butcher there is blue egg layers and speckled egg layers there is jumbo quail and standard quail.

Do you get request for the quail eggs? For eating? A lot of Asian dishes have the boiled and fried quail eggs…

Quail eggs are delicious pickled but peeling them is a chore.
